Australia’s premier automotive collector and lifestyle show, Motorclassica, has won the prestigious Best Consumer Show (> 10,000 sqm) at the annual exhibition industry awards in Sydney.
Set to celebrate its 10th year in 2019, Motorclassica is now well-established as the country’s most-important annual automotive exhibition, and the most internationally-significant event of its type in the country.
It uniquely combines the Australian International Concours d’Elegance with the very best cars and motorcycles of the collector hobby, together with the very latest in prestige high performance and sports models.
Presented on the 5th December, 2018, at the Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia’s, Awards for Excellence at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, the Best Consumer Show Award recognised the record-breaking success of Motorclassica’s 2017 event.
Significantly, Motorclassica was judged the best event in the Over 10,000m category ahead of a host of strong mainstream show finalists that included the Oz Comic-Con Sydney 2018, the Good Food & Wine Show Sydney 2018 and PAX Australia 2017.  Motorclassica first won the award back in 2014, when the show team also won the award for Best Show Team.
“This is a real surprise... what we have in common [with our fellow nominees] is that we bring communities together and that is a very special thing.  On any day, of any year, any of these shows are the best in the country,” Motorclassica Event Director Paul Mathers said in accepting the award.
“They say it takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a big village to bring Motorclassica together every year... and I am very proud to be able to stand at the helm.
Motorclassica will celebrate its 10th show in 2019, and will again be staged at Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building from 11 to 13 October.
